As Accrediting Organizations begin to conduct On-Site Surveys due to the drop in Omicron infections and the reduced acuity associated with most of those infections, CMS released QSO 22-10- All Vaccine Expectations for Surveyors Performing Federal Oversight.
The guidance states: “Unvaccinated personnel may be used, at the State Survey Agency’s or AO’s discretion, for offsite survey or enforcement activities” In addition, CMS further states “Current performance and timeliness standards for State Survey Agencies and AOs remain, and consideration will not be provided for failures to meet these expectations due to a lack of vaccinated surveyors to complete the mandated workload.” Follow the above link to find the full QSO and more specific information.
