Enterprise Wide Risk Management
When Risk Management goes enterprise-wide, leaders align guiding principles with their analysis of risks and opportunities to obtain the best strategic response for their healthcare organizations, going beyond traditional claims concerns. Knowing high risk areas, risk basics, ongoing risk assessments, as well as, barriers and variation, provides the information you need to enhance your program and assure organization wide effectiveness.
Through the identification, evaluation, assessment and response stages, an organization can perform a decision analysis to ensure their response meets strategic goals, improves patient safety and is cost effective. The Risk Management Program is one stage in the overall design of the organization. The ability of an organization to quickly identify, analyze and develop risk mitigation strategies drives performance improvement, decreases ‘risk’ exposure to liabilities and/or legal claims – ultimately improving patient outcomes.
