Shared Occupancies

By September 6, 2019C&A Blog

CMS does not allow for shared occupancies or operations under Healthcare Facilities licensing rules.  If a hospital owns an outpatient clinic, ambulatory surgical service, outpatient pharmacy or other type of physical therapy arrangement; that hospital must be the only occupant of that space given the operational hours selected.  For example – a physical therapy outpatient treatment clinic cannot sub-lease space to a message/holistic therapy clinic and both occupants be utilizing the same space at the same time.  Please take some time and review all occupancy agreements and ensure that what is licensed under the hospital – operates solely as hospital operations during the select days for operation.
