Anne Kelly is an Associate Consultant with Courtemanche and Associates. In this role, she is responsible for assessing healthcare organizations’ readiness for licensing, accreditation, and regulatory compliance. Anne is trained in the survey process, auditing approach and survey outcome determination utilized by The Joint Commission, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and other regulatory agencies and accrediting organizations. She assists organizations with pre-survey, intra-survey and post-survey activities, education, patient safety strategies, and quality improvement initiatives.
With more than 30 years of clinical and leadership experience working in varying healthcare positions, Anne has held various Quality, Accreditation and Patient Safety leadership positions. As Chief Quality and Compliance Officer with Acadia Healthcare, a leading provider of Behavioral Health services in the United States she led the enterprise-wide Corporate Compliance Program and quality initiatives. She monitored and guided various compliance functions including Compliance Line, auditing, staff educational programs, and internal controls. She oversaw full delivery of compliance and clinical support of regulatory, accreditation, quality programs, key performance indicators, and patient safety initiatives, and directly assisted survey preparations and survey responses for The Joint Commission, Federal, and State surveys.
In other previous roles she was responsible for the coordination of Joint Commission survey activities, preparations, and survey responses. She collaborated with multiple departments in ensuring compliance to standards and the use of best practices for excellence in patient care. She served as co-chair/chair of Performance Improvement/Patient Safety committees and clinical initiative groups.
Anne received her Associate Degree in Nursing from Wake Technical Community, Raleigh, North Carolina She later went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Arts Degrees from Regis University, Denver, Colorado, as well as a Doctor of Education (EdD), Interdisciplinary Leadership from Creighton University, Omaha, Nebraska. She received the Excellence in Nursing Leadership Award, American Psychiatric Nurses Association, 2012, and the Humanitarian Award, Columbia/HCA, June 1994 earned for her leadership and initiative in the formation of a community service program for the prevention of cardiac disease.
