Nancy McLean is a Senior Consultant with Courtemanche & Associates. In this role, Ms. McLean serves as a consultant and educator on TJC and regulatory matters, and assists clients with Ongoing Accreditation Readiness and Priority Focus processes. Nancy provides on-site system evaluations, consultation, education, training, and technical assistance; develops corrective action plans and timelines, and assists staff with maintaining current knowledge of healthcare trends, regulatory compliance requirements and proven solutions for improving patient care. In order to provide TJC consultation and education, Nancy has been trained under the Comprehensive Accreditation Manual for Hospitals, Ambulatory, and Long Term Care. She is also cross-trained to provide consultation and education in Behavioral Health. Most recently, Ms. McLean has developed a guide to regulatory requirements for Courtemanche & Associates, enabling readers to easily follow TJC’s standards by topic and requirement.
Prior to joining Courtemanche & Associates, Ms. McLean has held several nurse executive positions, including Chief Nurse Executive; Director of Nursing; Executive Director of Ambulatory; Director of Inpatient and Emergency Services; and Director of Quality. In her most current position, Ms. McLean provides consultative oversight for many corporate facilities, culminating in regulatory compliance and TJC success. In 2004, Ms. McLean led her organization to be named the 2004 TJC Ernest A. Codman Award Winner in the long term care category.
Ms. McLean has been affiliated with Florida Health Care Association, where she was named Nurse Administrator of the Year, Society for Ambulatory Care Professionals, and the National Medical Association. She has also been a featured presenter and educator for the TJC International Congress on Performance Improvement and Measurement in Health Care.
Nancy McLean received her Diploma in Nursing at the Grace Hospital School of Nursing; her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan; and her Masters of Health Services Administration degree from the University of Michigan School of Public Health in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She is also licensed as a Nursing Home Administrator.
