Judy Courtemanche

MS, RN

Ms. Courtemanche is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Courtemanche and Associates. With more than 35 years of medical, healthcare management and leadership experience, Ms. Courtemanche is an advocate for enhancing healthcare through weaving regulatory compliance into an organization’s culture.

Ms. Courtemanche has authored several publications to assist organizations with ongoing Joint Commission (TJC) compliance and performance improvement, including: Performance Tracing : A Guide to Tracer Methodology and the SOAR (Score Ongoing Accreditation Readiness) to SUCCESS series for Hospitals, Behavioral Care, Ambulatory Services and Home, which provides an easy approach to managing compliance for ongoing accreditation readiness.

She has served on Editorial Review Boards for NAHQ, and as member and faculty for professional organizations and associations, such as TJC (formally JCAHO), APIC and Red Cross and AHA. She is a national speaker and previously, served as a Surveyor and Team Leader at The Joint Commission where she was responsible for facilitating team performance during surveys, surveying standards, and providing on site education and consultation. She also served as faculty for various educational programs for surveyors, as well as organizational leaders, staff and physicians.

She has held various nurse executive positions as Chief Nurse at a metropolitan medical center, Director of an inner city primary care health center, Director of emergency and ambulatory surgical services, and Project Director for the implementation of computerized nursing systems at a university medical center.

Ms. Courtemanche received her nursing diploma from Massachusetts General Hospital School of Nursing, Boston, Massachusetts; a baccalaureate degree in nursing from Worcester State College in Worcester, Massachusetts; and a Master of Science in Administrations and Nursing from Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts. She was board certified in Emergency Nursing, and a member of Sigma Theta Tau, The American Nurses Association, the National Association of Healthcare Quality, and the Society for Healthcare Accreditation and Regulatory Professionals.

Ms. Courtemanche lives in Charlotte, North Carolina.
