Charles Milano currently serves as Senior Consultant and Educator for Courtemanche & Associates Healthcare Synergists. Dr. Milano consults on Medical Staff Credentialing, Privileging and Performance, Patient Safety, assessment of standards compliance, and moderate sedation.
Dr. Milano received his undergraduate degree from Columbia University, New York, New York; and medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York, New York. He completed his internship and residency in OB/GYN at the Mount Sinai Hospital, in New York, New York. Dr. Milano also received his law degree from The Thomas Jefferson College of Law, in Los Angeles, California.
Dr. Milano was a Physician Surveyor for the Joint Commission (TJC, formerly JCAHO) from 1998 through 2007. He is trained under the Comprehensive Accreditation Manual for Hospitals, and the Integrated Program. As a member of the Speakers Bureau, he conducted many educational programs for the Joint Commission (TJC, formerly JCAHO). He was faculty for programs on various topics including Privileging and Credentialing, Medication Management and Patient Assessment Documentation.
Prior to becoming a Joint Commission Surveyor (TJC, formerly JCAHO), Dr. Milano was Vice President of Medical Affairs at Saint Francis Hospital, in Poughkeepsie, New York. Dr. Milano is a nationally recognized speaker and author in the areas of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
